then today, around 2pm, while getting extremely bored and distracted when doing my dissertation, i chanced onto the hot air balloon website in Bath, www.bathballoons.co.uk.
(ok who am i kidding. i googled hot air balloon bath and found that website)
as luck would have it, there were 2 empty slots of this evening's balloon! not wanting to trust the information on the website, i called the number given, confirmed that there were indeed 2 slots available and booked it straight away.
so off we went for the 20mins walk from our place to the launch site.
like a boss |
it was bigger than we thought
and much more hands-on than we expected
they had a nice way of putting it though, that they wanted us to be involved so we have first hand experience. bullshit. i know free labor when i see it.
anyway, it is even bigger after air got blown in
after safety and other boring things, we were off!
it is nice flying over Bath. especially since we are not going to be here much longer =,(
Royal Crescent, Bath |
that red patch is where we took off from.
and we looked down on people who looked up to us.
part of the package included champagne and orange juice.. so that was nice, making our own mimosas thousands of feet in the air.
champagne in the air |
how many balloons can you spot in this photo? correct answer wins 1 free hot-air balloon!
how many hot air balloons do you spot? |
sometimes we flew really low and brushed against treetops.
there was this time we were so low a young girl yelled at us to be careful of the trees and everyone laughed.
sadly, all good things must come to an end.
turned out it wasn't THAT good weather to be flying a hot-air balloon cos there was very little wind, and it only took 10mins for them to drive us back to the launch site. =P
still, it was an amazing experience, and i am very glad we managed to check this off our list!
